New research shows that global warming poses a threat to those who suffer from allergies and/or asthma. Plants bloom earlier in the spring and allergy seasons are extended as a result of the warmer weather. Additionally, many of the elements contributing to global warming (air pollution, increased ozone, and wildfires) decrease the air quality, thus making asthma worse. The study, published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology notes that a world with an increased climate could make allergies and asthma more common.
The Environmental Protection Agency has placed Asthma on the list of potential health risks resulting from global warming.
