Harvard researchers have been testing a cream that may possibly prevent transmission of herpes. The cream works by disabling genes that play a main role in transmitting the herpes virus. This cream has been effective in mice, and researchers are hoping that the same results will be seen in humans.
The Harvard research can be seen in the January 22 issue of the Cell Host & Microbe journal.
