If you have genital warts, no one needs to tell you about how detrimental they can be. Genital warts can be caused by many things, such as Human Papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis, cancer and benign skin tags. Over 90 percent of genital warts, however, are cause by two strains of HPV. A physician needs to see them and may perform some laboratory analyses to make the diagnosis.

Warts can be treated, even those caused by HPV. Sometimes physicians can focus on the diagnosis of the warts and preventing the spread of the virus, but they don’t always prescribe proven remedies that can minimize the warts themselves.

There are two classes of medications you will want to be aware of to treat genital warts. Condylox minimizes genital warts by stopping rapidly dividing cells (antimitotic). This medication can be applied as a local cream and it comes in different strengths. Ask your physician about Condylox and which medication strength may be best for you.

Another class of medication is Aldara, a newer medication. It is an immune response modifier and works by interfering with an indirect method of wart growth, the local cellular consequences of the virus’ presence. This medicine is also applied in a topical cream, so discuss this option with your physician to see if it will work best for you.

Neither Aldara nor Condylox are guaranteed to make your warts completely disappear, but may make a significant impact in their overall size and number. The medications could be prescribed simultaneously, but this is seldom done. Your doctor might consider allowing you to try both of them, separately, in order to determine which one works better. These medications are available at eDrugstore.MD, where they are prescribed by U.S.-licensed physicians after you fill out a medical questionnaire. The medications can be shipped discretelty right to your door.

Typically, herpes can’t be eliminated completely. Both Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2 lie dormant in nearby nerves between outbreaks and are therefore difficult to treat. Therefore, the primary aim for treatment is to suppress their recurrence and minimize the severity of outbreaks.

The most recent guidelines for the Centers for Disease Control suggest three different medications that can be used to suppress herpes outbreaks and infection severity: Famcyclovir, Valtrex (Valacyclovir) and Acyclovir. Interestingly, Valacyclovir gets converted into acyclovir after it gets in the blood stream – so it’s really the same medication.

These herpes medications have a few a side effects that are not worse than the herpes outbreak itself, such as swelling, itching and rash. One feature to consider when determining which medication may be right for you is the dosing regimen. The most convenient regimen is Valacyclovir at 1 gram twice per day for 7-10 days. Valacyclovir can be expensive, and other less expensive options require that you take the medication 3-5 times per day, so be careful not to miss doses.

Keeping in mind that you can’t cure herpes, having one of these medications stocked at home can be a convenient way to minimize the outbreaks when they do occur. Ask your physician if this is an option for you.

Additionally, you may order Valtrex and Acyclovir online from www.eDrugstore.MD after you fill out a medical questionnaire. A U.S.-licensed physician may write a prescription for you, especially if you already have a documented diagnosis of herpes.

Genital Herpes is caused by the Herpes virus and can be type 1 (usually associated with cold sores of the mouth) or type 2 (most common). The virus is transmitted sexually, even with the use of condoms, and patients are frequently contagious when they aren’t having active breakouts.

Though you need a doctor to make an accurate diagnosis, you can get a rough idea if you have genital herpes based on the following criteria:

1. Did you get flu-like symptoms or painful genital lesions within 24-48 hours after intercourse? Especially with a new partner?
2. Do the lesions come to a head, much like a pimple, hurt and have fluid that leaks out days later?
3. Do the lesions tend to cluster in certain areas while avoiding other areas?
4. Does your sex partner have similar lesions or scars in their genital region?
5. Do “outbreaks” of your lesions occur during times of stress? Perhaps several times per year?

There can be a lot of different causes of genital skin lesions that look like herpes. It is important to have a physician see them or obtain blood samples. The gold standard for diagnosis is a special laboratory test called the Tzanck Smear, in which fluid from the vesicle is placed on a microscope slide and treated with a special reagent. Occasionally, other tests are used to make the diagnosis such as viral cultures or a virus replication technology called polymerase chain reaction in order to produce enough of the virus for adequate analysis.

Once you have an accurate diagnosis of genital herpes, you can buy Valtrex or Acyclovir online at eDrugstore.MD. This can be done from the privacy of your own home with prescriptions written by U.S.-licensed physicians. Only brand name drugs are sold; no counterfeits.

Many people remain confused about the difference between herpes and common cold sores that appear around the mouth. Learn the difference once and for all!

Cold sores refer to painful, transient lesions that typically affect the lips or area immediately near the mouth. Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 usually causes these lesions. Once infected with this virus, it is virtually incurable. The virus lies dormant in the nearby nerves and no traditional medications can completely remove or kill it. In times of stress, or for no apparent reason at all, the virus will “activate” and cause the tender cold sores around the mouth.

Herpes is most often thought of as the sexually transmitted disease that causes painful, genital lesions. Herpes Simplex Virus 2 causes the majority of genital herpes, but Simplex 1 may also, and visa versa. This overlap is why you need to see a doctor to make an accurate diagnosis.

Common cold sore can be treated with over-the-counter medications such as Campho-Phenique®. For serious and frequent cold sore outbreaks, consider Valtrex or Acyclovir. These are prescription medications used to treat genital herpes but may also help with severe cold sores.

Discuss the severity of your cold sores with your doctor. If you would like to treat your severe cold sores with something stronger than over-the-counter medications, order Valtrex or Acyclovir online from www.eDrugstore.MD and fill out a medical questionnaire. A U.S.-licensed physician will consider writing a prescription for you.

Remember that these viruses can not be cured, but the number and severity of outbreaks can be greatly reduced.
