Summary: Based on new scientific findings showing that Viagra keeps flowers from wilting, we tested three bouquets of flowers containing Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, to see which one would stay fresh the longest.

PART 1 – The Erectile Dysflower Experiment
Did you hear the one about the doctor who added Viagra to his flowers to keep them from wilting?
This isn’t a joke, but an actual experiment performed by Israeli scientist Ya’acov Leshem [read full story here]. Dr. Leshem was investigating why flowers lose their firmness after being cut, and realized this “plant plasticity” was similar to impotency in humans.
That led Dr. Leshem to try treating flaccid flowers with the same drug used to treat wilting wieners: Viagra. Surprisingly, he found that Viagra kept his plants alive for up to a week longer than plain water.
We were curious to see if Dr. Leshem’s findings could be reproduced. And we wanted to further his findings with an additional test: would Cialis and Levitra also keep flowers stiffer, longer?

Our state-of-the-art testing laboratory
We arranged four identical flower bouquets in four identical vases. All were kept at the same temperature, and received the same amount of light. The only difference was the solution in the vase.
To the first vase we added a solution of 100mg of Viagra — the standard dose — crushed into a powder and mixed thoroughly into water. The second vase received a solution of 20mg of Cialis in water. We filled the third vase with a solution of 20mg of Levitra in water. Finally, the fourth vase received plain water (our control test).
We expected to see dramatic results over the first few days, consistent with Dr. Leshem’s findings. But we found something completely different. Read on.
