Use Vaniqa topical cream exactly as directed by your doctor or your pharmacist. Be sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or nursing, as it is not known whether Vaniqa may have a negative effect on a fetus or nursing infant. Apply Vaniqa externally only, and avoid applying it very near to the eyes, ears or mouth.
To help prevent any allergic or drug interactions from occurring, tell your physician about every medication, skin-care product, topical solution, etc. that you currently use.
It is thought that Vaniqa works during the growth stage of the hair cycle by blocking an enzyme in the hair follicle that is necessary for hair to grow. It has also been clinically proven to reduce the rate of hair growth on the scalp, but this is not a recommended course of treatment.
This topical cream offers a safe and very effective way for a woman to slow the growth of facial hair. Vaniqa can be used in combination with other hair removal practices, and is a perfect tool to make it easier and less cumbersome to control unwanted facial hair. Clinical studies have shown that Vaniqa improves the effectiveness of laser hair removal.
Vaniqa should be used after cleansing and before applying moisturizer, sunscreen or cosmetics. Apply a thin layer twice a day, until it's absorbed. It may be best to use Vaniqa once in the morning and once at night as part of a daily skin care routine. Wait 8 hours between applications, and at least 4 hours before washing your face again. Continue to use your current method of hair removal, and continue to use Vaniqa over time to see the best results.
Although there are some side effects that may be experienced with Vaniqa, it should be noted that less than two percent of patients reported each of the side effects during clinical trials. Possible side effects include: temporary redness, itching, irritation, flakiness, burning, stinging, tingling, hair bumps (if you experience these, contact your doctor as it could be minor allergic reaction) and allergic reactions (if you experience an allergic reaction, stop using Vaniqa and contact your physician.
